Recall: Floor Turkey at Publix, Aldi, Weis

Oct. Three, 2017 — A North Carolina firm is recalling 38,475 kilos of floor turkey that could be contaminated with steel shavings, in line with the U.S. Division of Agriculture’s Meals Security and Inspection Service (FSIS).

Prestage Inc., a provider for Publix, Aldi, and Weis supermarkets, produced the bottom turkey on Sept. 25 and 26.

FSIS says it heard about the issue on Sept. 27, when somebody at one of many shops seen steel shavings in a bundle of floor turkey and advised the company. It has not obtained any reviews of sickness or harm associated to the recall.

Merchandise within the recall embody: 

  • 1.Three-pound white plastic foam trays, with clear plastic movie overlaying packages containing floor turkey labeled “Publix floor turkey breast with pure flavorings,” with ink jet printing on the facet of the trays displaying the primary 4 digits of 7268 and 7269.
  • 1.Three-pound white plastic foam trays, with clear plastic movie overlaying packages containing floor turkey labeled “Publix floor turkey with pure flavorings,” with ink jet labeling on the facet of the trays displaying the primary 4 digits of 7268 and 7269.
  • 1.2-pound white plastic foam trays, with clear plastic movie overlaying packages containing floor turkey labeled “Match & Energetic Recent Floor Turkey With Pure Flavoring,” with ink jet labeling on the facet of the trays displaying the primary 4 digits of 7268 and 7269.
  • 1.Zero-pound white plastic foam trays, with clear plastic movie overlaying packages containing floor turkey labeled “Weis Markets Recent Floor Turkey Breast,” with ink jet labeling on the facet of the trays displaying the primary 4 digits of 7268 and 7269.

The merchandise within the recall have the institution quantity “P-22000” contained in the U.S. Division of Agriculture mark of inspection. The producer shipped the meat to distribution facilities in Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.

Customers who purchased the merchandise ought to throw them away or return them.
